A defence of Sir William Hamilton's Philosophy against the attacks leveled by John Stuart Mill By Michael Cunningham Hamilton was considered one of the most learned philosophers of the mid-19th century. Unfortunately Mill's criticism of his ideas destroyed his reputation. Mansel went on to become Dean of St. Paul's Cathedral in London.
