I was under the impression (I mean, "Beekman 1802 Style" is the title) that it would focus on Josh and Brent's Beekman estate--that we'd see photos and descriptions of the rooms in the house, the grounds, the outbuildings. I was pretty excited. But that's not what this is. It's a compendium of photos from Country Living that are annotated by the Beekman Boys. Now, I love Country Living; it's my favorite magazine. But it's because I've read every issue so many times that these images are already cataloged by my brain. I've seen pretty much all of them before. I also love Josh and Brent. But I feel misled and disappointed. I'll keep it because it's pretty, but it's not what I thought it would be.

I should have reviewed more carefully before buying, and I would have known that it was a Country Living book. The picture depicting Beekman farm/house/shop were few and far between, so I was disappointed overall. What I hoped for was more Beekman pics, not Country Living archive pics with comments from B & J.

By Amazon Customer I am a huge fan of both Brent and Josh and an avid admirer of their Beekman style, so it is not a surprise that I am enjoying this book as much as I am. To me, the Beekman style is almost a more upscale flea market style. This book features rooms with classic and elegant pieces of furniture, highlighted with fun and unexpected pieces that elevate the Traditional American style from conventional to unique and individual.I rarely buy paper books anymore, preferring to buy digital copies to enjoy on my Kindle and iPad but this book is worth getting in paper form. The book itself is a large size but not so big that it is hard to look at comfortably. The picture and paper quality are also very good (I love a nice thick glossy page).
