About the Author Robin Suerig Holleran, a crash survivor herself, is a full-time freelance writer. Five years after her ordeal, she conquered Mount Kilimanjaro, as well as her fear of public speaking. She lives in Mendham, New Jersey with her three teenagers. Lindy Philip has been in the marketing and advertising industry for twenty years. After surviving a plane crash with her husband, she lived through her worse fears and realized she needed to become a mother. Today, she lives with her husband and two teenage sons on Vancouver Island in Sooke, Canada.

By Skip Gibson The Book "Bracing for Impact" is one of the only books I've read that explains what survivors of aircraft accidents have had to endure, from Ultra Light Planes to huge Commercial Jets. I give this book my highest recommendation for people interested in aircraft accidents. Of the 100's of thousands of people boarding a private aircraft, home made aircraft, or a Commercial aircraft today; the chances of an accident is miniscule, unless yours if the plane that happens to break the odds and go down. Despite the highly technical safety procedures and instruments of aircraft today, still these accidents still occur. This book gives you several chapters of the survival and pain and anguish of survivors from several of these incidents. From these stories one can "feel" what these survivors went through, as well as gather information how these people avoided becoming fatalities. A Great Book! 2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Compassionate Handling By Holl314 As a survivor interviewed for this book, I had some trepidation as to how my story would play out in writing. I've been telling it for years, and had developed my own style with it. Robin and Lindy held absolutely true to every detail, with no authors' embellishments nor awkward edits. I love how they presented the facts, and the research done regarding each crash and what was learned. Their handling of my story tells me that each story is as true to the event as mine, and I am grateful for that. Every account had me on the edge of my seat. Thank you for giving us survivors a forum without sensationalism, yet still gripping in its intensity. Anyone who flies and who wonders "what if" -- this is a fascinating collection that should bring hope and maybe a tiny sense of relief that yes, people do survive the unthinkable. Thank you Lindy and Robin for your deft handling of a sensitive and life-altering subject.

Definately a Must Read By Amazon Customer As a frequent flyer, and daughter of a small plane pilot, Bracing for Impact immediately grasped my attention. Every situation, every disaster and mishap such as these or anything in life, always is something we do not expect. My respect goes to the survivors and their accomplishments to date for overcoming this experience and I wish them the best. They are the true survivors and very strong individuals. Bracing for Impact is a well written and composed compilation of experiences of individuals who have experienced this, and their struggles and accomplishments. Definitely a Must Read.Laurie
