About the Author Isabella S. Oehry was born and raised in the small European country sandwiched between Austria and Switzerland, the Principality of Liechtenstein. Curious about the world, Oehry traveled extensively and eventually settled in Vermont/US. She continued her training and earned a degree in management information systems. But her strong interests in the mystery of the human mind and man's untapped potential prompted her to pursue an advanced degree in psychology. Deceptively so: there's a lot of both content and wisdom here, and Isa serves it up with a writing style that's pure maple syrup sweet and yummy as it goes down. Isa's yearlong adventure is part spiritual journey, part traveling through the four seasons of Vermont, and part climbing adventures. For me, a Vermont resident, it all rings true, from mud season, to the ice climb in Smugglers to the high camp in the Tetons. As for the spiritual dimension, I'm a skeptic, but here again I'm captivated by the mysteries as some part of all of us is. Isa's writer's gift is to offer up her experience with clarity and honesty, humor and humility. I think it's the resolve she gives and the attention paid to her spiritual quest I found most moving --- then again Green Reservoir under a Blue Moon at midnight is a pretty intoxicating place - I know having paddled it and spent many a night there -- and Isa renders it well.

A spiritual quest deeply rooted in nature By John Wheeler It love that Isa's story begins as she follows a shimmering light across the water toward a great full moon rising above the horizon in the night sky. It is a wonderful paradox that while moving forward toward the deeply compelling nature of this light Under a Blue Moon a path is revealed back to the heart and depth of her own soul. We are a reflection of nature and by listening most intently to its most subtle voice whether carried across the water on the song of a loon or echoed through the trees and hills by owls she helps us to connect with the mystery and beauty of life. Isa invites us to share the insights of her personal journey of adventure and discovery. We learn that by becoming open to the inter-connective and vibrational nature of our bodies and of our world we can begin to create and co-create our own reality.John Wheeler

At first she seemed an athletic woman with a easy smile, but as we visited it became apparent that she radiated an uncommon energy. I crossed her path again high in the mountains and even under conditions of tough weather and thin air, her energy and smile were as strong as ever. After reading Under a Blue Moon, I have a better understanding of the source of her spirit. Her quest for understanding is a great read and challenges our common views of the human experience, in our daily lives or in the great outdoors.
