A well written book and has definitely helped me to understand both sides of the mistress/slave world By BrainybirdAA I came across this book during research for an article I was writing. I had little understanding of Mistress/Slave scenario's and to be honest struggled to understand why it is appealing. I am open minded, but personally would be unable to hand over my life to someone else or even want to take on the responsibility for someone else. After being a single parent for 15yrs, I was happy to be relieved of all decision making when they left home. However, Lucy Fairbourne does a very good job of explaining why men hold it in high esteem and how a woman can work it to her advantage. She also clearly dispels the notion it is all about leather and crops. It is not. According to Fairbourne, it is only possible to set up these scenarios in strong, loving and caring relationships, were leather only makes an appearance if the Mistress wants it. It's not about fulfilling fantasies, but creating an acceptable way of life for both parties. A well written book and has definitely helped me to understand both sides.

An Easy-Reading Intro to the Topic By Laela Ae I picked this up for some research on a book project--and, I'll confess, out of prurient curiosity--and found it an easy and informative read. Not super-detailed, but a good introduction to the topic if you're looking for ideas--whether in fiction or, presumably, real life!
