Each page is it's own piece of artwork and her words weave the story of her journey to being an artist. It is a love letter to any and all of us on a creative journey of our own. She shares her highs, lows, raw emotions, wise words and life lessons on her journey in a way that resonates with the reader. I find myself opening to a random page each morning and finding inspiration to take with me all day.This is a book that will live on your nightstand and that you will want to share with your friends.

Jon Williams First a disclosure: I have known the author for many years and have witnessed her strength and creativity first hand. She really has gone through the lengthy list of life's tougher issues described in this remarkable book. I find the book to be an inspiration. Christine is willing to offer to us her inner perspective on coping with dark times and then her approach to regaining optimism in the ups and downs of her very full life. In addition to the insightful writing, which is drafted in a way that can be read repeatedly to find new meaning each time, each page is it's own individual unique piece of art. Just beautiful. This book will stay on my nightstand for a long time.

Every page is stunning and artfully created, and with each word, Christine lets you into her private world as an artist and a woman. Her courage to share her journey and words of wisdom has inspired and empowered me to seek my own truth. So Bassetti began her instructions with a 10-minute YouTube video to demonstrate the how-to's of her craft--and voilá, the result. Her visual acuity is right on the mark. She illustrates each of the six steps, starting by making a slip knot to weaving in the ends, using clear, close-up color photographs. The seven different stitches (along with knit and purl, she highlights seed, linen, rib, cable, and garter stitches) follow the same format. And though the 30 projects don't incorporate her photographic processes, there's plenty of information, before and after the direction, to ensure knitters will get the results they deserve. Stevens This book offers the reader a broad view of the great variety of masks that have been in use in the last 50 years or so. When the author, Bob Ibold, asked me to write the forward, I readily agreed, because I had been familiar with his various mask collections for more than a decade. Having agreed to that task, I then assigned myself another job, to go through the first draft of this book with a critical eye. I asked myself whether the masks in the book were accurately and meaningfully described, so that they were likely to be truly useful for a curious reader. Of course I identified places where the descriptions required tweaking, but my overall impression was that this book was exactly what the author said he intended to write, a comprehensive introduction to the world's masks. Over the years there have been other books with the same goal, but this one goes far beyond the rest in its systematic survey of so many areas with so many examples.This book is for you if:1. You are curious about the variety of ways that native peoples have used masks,2. You work with children and you want to inspire them to create masks to please themselves,3. You admire masks in flea markets but you are uncertain about their identity or meaning.Down the road, if you find that you have become highly interested in masks of a particular style or from a particular region, then you will need to move beyond this book to others that are more specialized. This is an introductory book, and it does not pretend to provide such an in depth explanation of the masks of a particular region that you will learn everything that you might need to know. For example, although the author provides ample warning to the new collector about the possibility that a particularly interesting mask may be a reproduction of an original mask or an invention, he cannot provide the necessary details in this modest book to evaluate every mask for authenticity.When I went through this book, I learned a lot. I expect that you will too.

O'Neil, Jr. The author has produced an excellent reference for both the new and the experienced collector of masks, those artifacts worn for rituals, dances, celebrations, religious events and many other purposes. The images are beautifully lighted and photographed (most of them by the author!) The book's organization makes it easy to find your geographical areas of interest, or simply to enjoy the astounding variety of these creations. Mr. Ibold's interest in this area of expressive art began more than thirty years ago and expanded from his interest in the sculptural and decorative qualities of the mask to include its cultural, religious and historical meanings. Indeed, it's a comprehensive view of what we humans will do to radically alter our appearance for decoration, protection and symbolic uses. From our earliest experiences with masks at Halloween, birthdays and other holidays, masks hold our attention.The reader/viewer will appreciate the original creative impulses, the sculptural and decorative talent, the range of materials used and the spirit which causes these beautiful and fascinating objects to attract and engage us.Highly Recommended!

About the Author Kaseorg, born in Pennsylvania in 1956, studied art and writing at Binghamton University, and became a professional artist early in her career. She went on to graduate school at USC Los Angeles where she studied Occupational Therapy. She owned her own Occupational Therapy practice for many years in NY, and with the birth of her prodigiously gifted first son, began homeschooling. She has bicycled across the USA, run a marathon, completed a biathalon, learned to ski at age 50, successfully graduated her three children to prestigious universities, yet still feels the most difficult task she has ever had to accomplish "is living a consistent, righteous life before God and my family."

Also a voice speaking from your own childhood, the voice from inside your very own head, that said there wasn't much you could do, you're just a little kid, and yet you wanted to try. While Vicky works hard at changing Gidget's destiny, her own is molded by the sheer force of her will and the kindness in her heart. She finds a way to forgive the flighty horse, her own timid self, her rival for a paramour's affection, and a seemingly uncaring God who allowed a little child's heart to be broken. In fact in the story perhaps Vicky learns more than the horse does in the end. A great second installment in this hopefully many chaptered series! Can't wait for what comes next.

Vicky saves another horse, the horse farm, and helps hurting children. What more could you ask for? The Christian world view is a bonus without being preachy or taking over the story.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. I really enjoyed this book By J. Benner I really enjoyed this book, the second in a series about a girl who works and rides at a horse stable. Part fiction but part fact, the story rings true to any of us who have loved horses as a teen and were willing to do any dirty job to be near them. Horse lovers and animal lovers alike will both enjoy Gidget as well as Joe. As Vicky grows and learns about horses you truly find yourself rooting for her to do well. The obligatory love interest/bully is also ringing true for me. Who didn't fall in love with a boy at a stable? Vicky is just a way better sport about his insults than I ever was. I found myself reading longer and faster to see what would happen, and when I hit the end I said "what?" it's done? I read it in an e book format so I didn't realize I was that close. Now this can be a stand alone book but you really were left with the sense "and then what happened?" as if Vicky were sitting at your table telling you this story. Add to all this that it is a clean book so no language to bog you down, and the Christian message is quite clear. I am anxiously awaiting book 3 in the series.

By Andrés Amenábar Figueroa El libro es de fácil lectura, pero cuando se supone que va a concretar, termina dando consejos muy generales. Se hecha de menos una revisión más científica de la bibliografía sobre el tema. El título es bastante pretensioso con respecto a lo que expresa el libro, se limita a dar una conexión general entre hormonas y alimentos, explicación bastante sencilla y reduccionista.
