By Amazon Customer I used to check out the copy at the library when I wanted to dream about a shop project for my retirement years (which are going to be spent saying "Hi, Welcome to Wal-Mart!" 900 times a day instead of relaxing and creating things) So I'm familiar with what was left out of this edition. The folding plates include the diagrams you need to figure out the scale of the pipes, that is the length/diameter ratio, as well as detailed drawings illustrating the tracker and coupler work.Oh, well, I guess I can get them from one of the online collections, print them, and tip them into the volume.

By Jack Speller The main problem with this is that they did include all the fold out diagrams that are supposed to be in this book. It is okay though, because I can print out the fold out pages from openlibrary.org and put them in the book. The cover writing also comes really close to the binding, which means if you decide to spiral-bind it, the words on the cover will get cut off. I will just have to make a new cover before I get it spiral-bound.The reason this product gets four stars is because it is a lot cheaper than buying the original or any of the earlier reprints (e.g. 1988). Otherwise, I would have given it 3 stars. If you don't mind printing out those fold-out pages and attaching them, then it should work out just fine.

Henderson This book contains specifications for three organs ,videlcet; a 1 manual organ without pedal clavier, a 1 manual organ with pedal clavier,and a 2 manual organ with or without pedal clavier.the book is not however limited to these small instruments.it also has a especially well made exposition upon the construction of metal,paper,and wood organ pipes,along with EVERY other aspect of the manufacture of a mechanical tracker action organ. The only complaint is that it does not have the engravings and illustrations,this,however,is only a minor trouble, as i found the illustrations in ''e library'' (type in the books title on there home page).Overall,this is a exelent discourse on the art of pipe organ construction.
