By Amazon Customer I used to check out the copy at the library when I wanted to dream about a shop project for my retirement years (which are going to be spent saying "Hi, Welcome to Wal-Mart!" 900 times a day instead of relaxing and creating things) So I'm familiar with what was left out of this edition. The folding plates include the diagrams you need to figure out the scale of the pipes, that is the length/diameter ratio, as well as detailed drawings illustrating the tracker and coupler work.Oh, well, I guess I can get them from one of the online collections, print them, and tip them into the volume.

By Jack Speller The main problem with this is that they did include all the fold out diagrams that are supposed to be in this book. It is okay though, because I can print out the fold out pages from openlibrary.org and put them in the book. The cover writing also comes really close to the binding, which means if you decide to spiral-bind it, the words on the cover will get cut off. I will just have to make a new cover before I get it spiral-bound.The reason this product gets four stars is because it is a lot cheaper than buying the original or any of the earlier reprints (e.g. 1988). Otherwise, I would have given it 3 stars. If you don't mind printing out those fold-out pages and attaching them, then it should work out just fine.

Henderson This book contains specifications for three organs ,videlcet; a 1 manual organ without pedal clavier, a 1 manual organ with pedal clavier,and a 2 manual organ with or without pedal clavier.the book is not however limited to these small instruments.it also has a especially well made exposition upon the construction of metal,paper,and wood organ pipes,along with EVERY other aspect of the manufacture of a mechanical tracker action organ. The only complaint is that it does not have the engravings and illustrations,this,however,is only a minor trouble, as i found the illustrations in ''e library'' (type in the books title on there home page).Overall,this is a exelent discourse on the art of pipe organ construction. God bless!

I play the DVD while I'm working on projects as background noise and still manage to catch something of interest. I am always happy to improve my sewing skills , unfortunately it's easy to forget what you don't use regularly so I will continue to play the dvd as background to keep my new information fresh in my mind

I ordered 10 to give as gifts to my Prayer Shawl Group at our holiday luncheon. We plan to use the" lapghan" pattern with pockets for our next prayer shawls - we'll make them a little longer - and we will make the "slouch cap" for our Chemo hats. The instructions and photographs will be so helpful to our new knitters and offer some great finishing tips for our seasoned knitters. Many in our group are aware of the difficulties of hospitalization and the therapeutic benefits of knitting. The personal stories were heartwarming.It's always nice to purchase a book that benefits an organization such as Alzheimers. Kudos to those that started Project Knitwell.

Knitting has comforted me through countless hours at hospitals for family members, not to mention long, stressful airport layovers! It's great to have something constructive to do. I've also found that knitting is an excellent conversation-starter. Everyone asks what I'm working on, and wants to learn how to knit. I will now recommend The Comfort of Knitting. The instructions and photos are very easy to understand. The patterns are lovely and perfect for both beginners and long-time knitters. I applaud the work of Project Knitwell.

This system gets results and my income has increased accordingly to how closely I follow this method. When I drift away from the basic plan here, I find myself getting frustrated and my quota seeming to be farther away. Every time I hit the book and remind myself the basics it just falls into place. I wish more people discovered this but until they do its getting me results by not being the same sales guy that called you before.

By krisadela I've never knitted a sweater before, only socks, and while I haven't used the patterns in this book to make anything yet, I am very excited to start! I tend to shy away from books that present too much information at once, or doesn't adequately explain techniques, as I have found authors of knitting books sometimes assume a lot of pre-knowledge. I must admit I lean towards books in the Idiot's Guide or Dummies frequently, as I relish in teaching myself new skills, and they thoroughly explain basic concepts well. I'll update after I've knitted up a few.

But when I picked out one of the patterns that was referred to as a good first sweater, I was very disappointed to find that the suggested yarn would cost me close to $150. Many of the yarns suggested for other patterns are on the expensive side as well. I can't spend $150 on a very first sweater project. It would have been nice if she suggested some budget-friendly alternatives to the yarns listed in the patterns & also discussed yarn substitution, because you can't just substitute any DK weight yarn for any other DK weight yarn.

Review "Windy City Christmas – Quilted Memories of Marshall Field's” by Diana Richards and Jan McGrath offers 15 colorful embroidery, piecing and appliqué designs that can be used together or individually. There are children's aprons, a wall quilt, place mats, napkins, tote bags, pillow, a tree skirt and I love the Holiday Stockings pattern with their curled up toes and jingle bell cuffs. The main quilt project in the book pays homage to that grand store Marshall Fields. All the blocks in this project are embroidered. The center block has a beautifully stitched Christmas tree. The patterns are printed at 100% and in color. Instructions are clearly written. All the appliqué in the book is done using fusible and machine stitching so you still have time to finish one of these projects in time for this year's celebrations! About the Author

Diana Richards took her first quilt class from Jan McGrath, found her happy place, and never looked back. Diana designs quilts and teaches quilting in her home studio. She is the Indiana state coordinator for the Quilts of Valor Foundation.

But this book was by a classmate, so I bought it. It is wonderful! The photographs and stories remind me of my childhood, growing up in Northwest Indiana, and those trips to Chicago and Marshall Fields at Christmas time. Beautifully done, a true treasure, this book might make me dust off the old sewing machine after all. Great job, Diana and Jan!

Memories of Marshall Fields come back with quilts By foxvalley Marshall Fields contributed so much to the Christmas memories for those around Chicago area. This book tries to re-create them on a quilt. Amazon does not show the patterns, so it is hard to know what you will be getting. The front cover shows a quilt that is included in the book. Center block of the iconic christmas tree. It is surrounded by Uncle Mistletoe (a Marshall Fields invention), diamond ring, ring in the new year, stocking, Marshall Fields bag, candy canes, silver bells, Frango mints, snow globe, tree ornaments, and a noel pole of Randolph, State, Wabash, Washington. A tree skirt with beautiful Marshall Fields ornaments. Replica of Marshall Fields Christmas tote in quilt design. An absolutely gorgeous child apron for a boy and a girl. A wall hanging of the iconic tree. Pillows showing the noel pole, and ornaments. Whimsical christmas stockings with curled toes. Placemats and chair decoration of the Walnut Room. A quilt simulating the ties from Menswear department. There are full patterns, and embroidery instructions.

Each chapter presents some of the most profound life lessons, and in a format that hits the target, makes the point and moves into what is next. Just like life. Would make a great gift for any young woman. A guide book for moving away from survival mode and into thriving mode. Love it.

Her life experiences are in this book well thought out well written. It's helpful not just for women I learned a lot. laugh a lot and had some tiers from a heart felt hope to know my self better and other's. I have known DR. Di Marco for 50 year's and I learned more about a friend I love better because her life and talent to help others is in this book. Highly recommend the read just didn't want it to end. It is boring for ME to read and follow ordinary bead books both simple projects or elaborate designs. By contrast sparks fly in my mind and I become energized reading and following her. This book takes you from a simple easy to follow instructions, producing interesting unique components onto a path exploring uses, variations and texture possibilities based on the first technique used.There are very few mental spring board books. This is one. The passion and intent of Beth Stone is clear throughout the book. She guides the beginner and clearly gives permission and guidance on how to begin to make changes and to develope your own voice. She is an excellent writer and nurturing teacher who wants her reader to go far, far beyond what written. This is a book to read and reread., YES,a keeper, This is not just another bead recipe book.Nancy Garber, owner of Brighton Beads and More, Brighton, Michigan(PS I didn't know you could add a photo here. I am using one of her techniques in the book to make a bracelet to highlight one of my husbands lampwork beads. When I finish it, I hope I can add the photo to my review.) Her work is elegant, inventive, always in good taste and never overdone. Her color sense is extraordinary. She favors simple, opaque beads. In my opinion she's miles above many of the other seed bead artists working today, many of whom think the more elaborate and fussy it is, the more bling you put in, the better it is. I hate that! I have Beth's two previous books and am so glad she's published another one. Thank you, Beth! I've learned so much from you.

Really the backbone of the history of American beading. Traditional stitching techniques are its core. In Bead Play Every Day, seed beads and "simple techniques" are on display. Growing up in Michigan, the Native influences had an obvious effect on Beth's art. There is no fancy crystal or stones featured here, opaque and metallic seed beads are the focal materials.Yet the new modern multi hole seed bead shapes such as superduos and triangles challenge Beth's seed bead roots beyond her basic teachings. Bead Play does not regress, it "ropes" you in with Three Dimensional and forward thinking. (Am a "minimal" consultant of this book, was ecstatic when received my signed copy, attached a picture of her beaded rope, which strings you along from project to project)

By Lynne Here's an entertaining little book that could be a real blockbuster.The best aspect of this book is that it presents the various personalities, of lawyers, doctors and psychologists in a hilarious light.I believe humor and the ability to laugh at yourself is a great asset which the author presents beautifully.

That said, this is a just a wonderful book for all who want home to befor one's self and for family and friends. Trish, as we all call her, is the most generous hostess. And this book captures that generosity.Enjoy this book, as if you were an observant guest--as I have been. In her elegant simplicity, she is always prepared to host an overnight guest or a dozen people for dinner at the drop of a hat. Having seen virtually dozens of "design" books--this is not one that is out of reach. It is, though, within all our abilities, to appreciate and be inspired. Even a medicine cabinet inspires to keep things neat--and simple--and effective.Tricia Foley's life style has developed over years from a natural inclination to understand essentials. I so admire the "Trish touch." Perhaps it isa simple leaf or branch pleasantly placed. Perhaps while linen slipcovers that can always be kept fresh and inviting. What I find most appealing,is that she stands out of the way...having edited her life, she has made it available to inspire all of us. I don't believe that Trish wants her readers to copy her style--but to make one's house one's home--as she so beautifully states.

This book is just the best distillation of her do's and dont's By winn I have been a fan of Tricia Foley's since the first time I saw her home featured in Elle Decor circa 2000 or there about. I discovered a kindred soul who ascribed to the '50 Shades of White' theory. Since then I've followed her Blog, Pinterest, and bought items from her General Store.This book is just the best distillation of her do's and dont's. It is a great read and a must have if you believe in neutrals and simplicity and quiet, peaceful ambience on the home front.

I have followed Tricia Foley over the years and admire all her books, styling and work in general. This is perhaps my favorite book authored by her. I read it from front to back enjoying all it offers. I highly recommend it.
