About the Author Timothy Whealon specializes in high-end interior design with a focus on fine and decorative arts. His work has been published in Elle Decor, House Beautiful, Veranda, Architectural Digest, the New York Times, and numerous books. A founding editor of the New York Times Styles section, journalist Dan Shaw has cowritten several books, including Mary McDonald: Interiors and The Age of Elegance: Interiors by Alex Papachristidis.

I only broke way from its seductive pages for a quick dinner and continued to read and regard until bed time. I will admit that the actual words mean something and the story of what compelled the author to pursue his love of design with simplicity and beauty at its core, is truly remarkable.I consider myself a person of pretty sophisticated taste, but Tim's work is levels beyond mine. Every photograph is inviting and warm. I found myself thinking I would never have thought of that, so now I want to redecorate everything! All of his designs include a remarkable understanding of art as well as a very clever and at times a whimsical mix of modernity with wonderful antiques.From Wall Street, to the Auction world, to full service Interior Design. If we could all be so fortunate to follow our passions as Tim Whealon has. This is a must buy for anyone who appreciates the Pursuit of Beauty!PS.... everyone is getting this book for Christmas!

This is no mere coffee table book and believe me, I have enough of those already! The designs seem effortless and are highly instructive for anyone looking to create a more beautiful interior. After browsing for a short time I found myself pushing furniture around my own home.His method combines contemporary luxurious materials with antiques and traditional furniture to create thoroughly modern unstuffy interiors. Everything is high touch and comfortable; in every room there is a place where you would just sit yourself down and relax. His refined tabletop arrangements are carefully curated yet personalized for his lucky clients.

Tim Whealon has totally changed my perspective. He is no longer pursuing beauty....he has already found it! His book is truly a work of art.
