26 of 32 people found the following review helpful. Rich hipster weddings abound... By JoleneRae I bought this book in the hopes of getting some beautiful ideas for my upcoming wedding. Sadly, what I got was a bad case of the "are you freaking kidding me?"s. This book has gorgeous photos but in no way is it a step-by-step of the wedding process or even of the design process at the title would suggest. Not to mention every wedding in the book had to have cost a small fortune. Don't get me wrong, I know weddings are expensive and the more stunning and unique a feat, the more it seems to cost. But that isn't an excuse to display a three-day affair at which a couple rents out an entire hotel, hosts a cocktail party, breakfast bash, pool party and dance party all before the wedding and reception. I also want to point out that all of the weddings in this book look incredibly similar despite each bride saying they wanted something unique. Maybe it was the use of the same flowers or the pervasive presences of "rustic" design elements (old suitcases, metal pails as part of the center pieces, wooden boxes for the center pieces, wooden frames to hold the menus, family style dining with 'interesting' chairs...) and basically every wedding used the same caterer. I understand that this book is about weddings designed by a specific event planning team and so similarities should be expected.With all of the above said, if you are looking for a book to help you find wedding inspiration, unless you have more money than God, are lucky to not have to pay for your own wedding or are some quasi-hipster obsessed with being unique and individual but really just want a cookie-cutter rustic and whimsical affair, don't waste your money on this book.

I really liked the little color schemes and interviews they had with the couples. I could really identify with each couple's take on things, and I think it was really neat to see their vision for their wedding transformed into the gorgeous images. The book definitely did not disappoint!
