Originally I was really interested in the watercolor section of the book, as I am a beginner and I've been wanting to learn more about the medium - but this book wowed me from start to finish. To me, it's not a Chapter you read once and say "that was good, I should remember that". It's a complete paradigm shift, it's so good that I think it would serve me well to read it over and over and over throughout my life. It's like a rudder that will help my ship stay on course. And then there's Chapter 12, so good.

By Amazon Customer Unfortunately, most of the content in this book can be obtained from Wikipedia and numerous other websites, so why pay for this book? While reading, it became evident that the author had clearly compiled information from other sources and it was poorly written. I could not believe that it had not been edited , numerous grammatical errors, so much so, that it was difficult to get through a page without feeling that a 10 year old had written this. Seems to me that the author wanted to make some quick cash and threw together a poorly researched, unedited pamphlet.

I thought this book would be for amazing tricks and ( a little bit longer) :( but when it starts talking about different species of cats don't get fooled, ( fooled like ugh, cheap junk!) it mostly talks about stupid things and things you don't need to know, and only teaches 3 things litter training, not to scratch up furniture, and not to bite or scratch. and the actual training is only a paragraph. over all ok. anne, you are lucky i didn't rate you two stars, becuase i almost did!

The answer surprisingly is yes and Anne not only has the knowledge and ability to show us how but with her writing style it seems she has a love for cats too. First off, she begins with how we need to understand our snobbish yet loveable little babies such as quirks and other behaviors; the key is to think like a cat. Cats are trainable however, Anne teaches us the best tricks to keep them from getting stressed out during training. Superbly she covers this as well as other training and behavior problems such as tools needed for training, kneading, scratching and biting as well as bathing and so much more. I found this book to be the perfect guide to not only getting to know our feline friends, but how to train them in the most stress-free environment. I have no doubt with Annie’s tips that the thousands of cats and kittens up for adoption will soon have forever homes.

About the Author John Montroll is respected for his work in Origami throughout the world. His published work has significantly increased the global repertoire of original designs in Origami. Great, but not beginner level By Claire Todd This is a fun combination of origami and super heroes, and since many children enjoy each of these things, it will be a hit with many. The book starts with basic information on origami folds and what the symbols in the instructions mean. Then the projects are presented by collection (Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Justice League,) ordered by difficulty. For each project there's text and an illustration of the character or item depicted, a photo of the finished results, and step-by-step line drawings and instructions. Finally, there are designed papers specific to the project, so that they actually look like what they're supposed to be rather than roughly approximating the shape. There are 46 projects, with 2 copies of each folding page, for 96 sheets of origami paper in all.However, some caveats. If you or your intended recipient is new to origami, this isn't the place to start. As an adult I've been doing origami with children for awhile, and have folded most projects in Easy Origami (also by John Montroll) without too much difficulty. However, the easiest rated projects in this book are roughly as hard as the hardest in that one, and borderline too difficult for me. I attempted Green Lantern's symbol, (difficulty rating of 1 Star out of 3,) struggled, never got the final squash fold just right, and in the end the design wasn't placed just as pictured. It will likely be frustrating for someone with little to no previous Origami experience and skill. Get some practice, then try this. Also, since the designs are significantly less fun without the special paper, you'll want to practice before using it up. Definitely have extra on hand for practice when you get/give this book - preferably 8" one sided Origami paper to best match what's in this book.Overall it's a great gift for a superhero fan - IF they already are into Origami. Otherwise, there's the potential for frustration.

By NYC Spinner I have been waiting for this book to become available for months - and it was well worth the wait! The book is divided into four sections - Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman and the Justice League - with designs and projects in each section. The back is filled with a generous amount of origami paper that is printed for the various projects - I would recommend practicing first with blank paper before you use the pre-printed paper. Although at this price it might be worth buying a second book if you need more paper! A must have for DC and origami fans alike!

3 of 4 people found the following review helpful. It's a Bird. It's a plane. It's.... Origami By shawnr5 I just got my copy and it looks like a lot of fun. The designs look to be easy enough for less experienced folders to master, but detailed enough to be recognizable. I hope that Capstone makes the paper to go along with the designs available separately. The 96 printed sheets will go quick. The book is quite a departure from John Montroll's usual fare, but it is a welcome addition to my origami library.
