By Dan Jonson Bonsai caring is a form of art, and if you want to do it right, you need to follow very specific guidelines that will help you grow a beautiful bonsai yourself, otherwise you’ll probably end up wasting time and money and not getting the results you want. I honestly think this books is a must read for anyone beginning in the art of bonsai caring, since it is full of helpful and easy to follow advice and techniques for growing a beautiful, strong, healthy bonsai. My favorite part of the book was chapter 5, where it shows you exactly how to prune and wire your plant to give it whatever shape you want. I will definitely recommend this book to my family and friends.

Saw her watching a bonsai tree in a magazine couple of months ago and since she's such a "freak" about it and that she had a birthday last week I bought her seeds and this book. For what is worth... think I've hit the jackpot with that present... She went through the book the same night and first thing in the morning she was planting it. We'll see how it turns out, but from what she's saying, the book is quite good and she got all the information she needed. So yeah, 5 stars.

I wanted a bonsai tree so bad but I felt there was no way I could keep it alive. I always knew Bonsai trees needed a more care than most plants, but I never knew just how much more care. You will learn a lot about caring for a bonsai tree in this book. I was very happy with this beginner’s guide as the right choice to getting started, growing and maintaining my own bonsai tree.

27 of 33 people found the following review helpful. If your baking is based on boxed mixes and nondairy whipped topping, you are good to go :-) By Shar Quite honestly, I wasn't wowed by it. For my purposes, it's a 3.5 star, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt (for the needs of what apparently is the Target Audience; see below).My issue: the VAST number of recipes that use *boxed* mixes. I moved past those ages ago... basically when I had small kids and worried about the long list of ingredients, most of which resorted to their chemical names. (Let's be honest here: sugars, fats, preservatives.) The mixes used in this book include boxed cake mix, brownie mix and pudding mix. Plus canned pie filling, canned frosting, store-bought cookies and the dreaded (gahk!!) "nondairy whipped topping".If you are into convenience foods you'll probably love this book. I went through the recipes and found only one (the "Nutella Cheesecake") that I bothered to bookmark.I've enjoyed the Six Sisters in the past, but this book fails on the "Traditions for the Whole Family" front for me. The fourth star is me trying to be nice. I can see some people loving this book, but "it ain't me, babe."

My plan was to cook all the recipes, but after first 4, i stopped. Was not really enjoying any of them.

The dad was a strong but compassionate father, the mother stayed at home, and all the kids worked together and got along well. Is it possible to have families like that today?Keesee says it is. To have that kind of family, however, one must have the principles that go along with it. She has written this book to share the vintage family model and the principles that make is possible.There is a great deal of information in this book that modern families could use. We start by focusing on what really matters. There is an emphasis of turning to God and focusing on Him. He has the wisdom needed so we must prioritize a relationship with Him. We must also understand how Satan is working to destroy the family.The four building blocks Keesee uses are discipline, love, faith, and example. She has a great chapter on discipline, why it is needed, and how it can be done in today's society. It is not a popular topic today but it “has the power to make or break a family” she says. She gives plenty of suggestions on how to establish discipline and stick with it.I really liked her section on example. Kids model what they see and they should be seeing evidence of God in our lives. Keesee home schooled so her children saw their parents and how they lived their lives every day. Part of that was an entrepreneurial spirit and the children grew up being involved in the parent's business. There is a chapter emphasizing how that worked in their family.Developing a family the way God designed it to be will not happen by accident. I can tell from reading this book that parents must put much prayer, thought, and action into it. It takes work to set boundaries and stick with them. It takes conscious effort to model the kind of adult you want your children to be.This book is not a “how to” manual for developing a godly family. It is a revelation of how the Keesee family did it with plenty of stories and examples of how principals work. You'll still need to decide whether to home school or not, whether to allow your kids to date or to encourage courting, etc.I recommend this book for parents of all ages - there is even a chapter on grand parenting and one for the parent of a prodigal. Reading this book is an encouragement. It is possible to develop a family the way God intended, raising godly adults. I love the transparency and heart from which it was written By Aj Luck This book had my attention from the cover until the last page.I love the transparency and heart from which it was written. Drenda shares stories from her own life, good, bad and mind blowing with her readers in hopes of encouraging them to get back to the roots of being a true vintage family. Turn off the electronics. Be present not only in your family but in your calling as well. She shows how it is not only necessary, but how it IS possible to incorporate it as well. I loved the flow of the book. Very easy to read. Grant it, convicting at times, at least for me, but in a good, Godly way.It was a timely read for me personally. As she discussed topics from being a parent God needs us to be to our children. Being the wife that God needs to be to our husbands. Also, how to be a "mompreneur" (pursuing our God given dreams and calling, while balancing managing our homes.)I needed to read ALL of these things she mentions, at this time in my life. :)Throughout the book she shares photos of her family that I thought were really fun. This made me feel as if it was a welcome into her life and life experiences. Her husband and her children each share a perspective from growing up in a large family and how it impacted them for today.HIGHLY recommend this book.The heart behind it is truly beautiful.The principals in this book are timely and encouraging and backed up beautifully with scripture.Advice is practical.I think this book needs to be on the shelfs of each family in America.Great job Drenda!! At first I thought the astrology section was just hokey and unrelated to building a pet business but soon found it to be political, offensive and totally useless to those who are serious about the pet industry.

Mimi Bondi's positive and encouraging step-by-step instructions are very clear and easy to follow and there are photos to go along with each step. I love mixed media, but spend a lot of time staring at the blank pages of my art journal, not to mention having been terrified to work on a canvas. It's very easy to open this book and just start painting, ending up with a piece of art, (yes, even on a canvas) that you'll love. The photos in the book are just gorgeous and the colors are so happy.I can't say enough about how wonderful "No Shenanigans!" is. I believe anyone who buys it will love it!

However, some of the author's historical references raised more questions than answers. Specifically, his stories on Leon Jordan and Bernard Powell's murders and how they are connected to the racism in Kansas City.

And an exemplary rendition of what's needed n every community in the United States. I searched for this book when I first moved to Kansas City eight years ago. I'm delighted that it has finally been written. Within the historical framework Griffin so well defines, many more stores may now be told.

Read this, even if you don't live in Kansas City By August McCoy This well-researched history was certainly eye-opening, disturbing and went a long way toward explaining why we have the problems and simmering anger we do today. So many of our social policies that were intended to help were hijacked along the way. I highly recommend this.

I really love the whole minimalism thing, and building a life with less is definitely something I want to try. I've read a lot about self sufficiency and homesteading, and I was really pleased to find a box set that helped me put a plan together with a real motivation to build some of the great advice into my life.Well worth a read, great books with a lot to offer in an age when we should be going back to a simpler, more sustainable life

Sometimes I feel like they jumped ahead a little, and I was looking form some information on a cut here or how did they make that cut and what type of knife did the use. I enjoyed the other CCA carvers; however, there was merely a snipet of each ones work. Overall, I would say the book was worth its price.

By Val Kc I have been always a leader in my class during undergrad, and other people say that I am being elected because I am always competent, but one time I told them that the only competition that I have is with mys elf, I compete with no one but myself. I see to it that I am a better person whenever I get a chance. And I also advise this to everyone I know, always reinvent yourself, for the better. And this boxed set, these books are a great help to that. Two book that can help you cope up with the inner you, the problems and struggles you go through that only you can solve. And the other two books are a great help for being productive. Indeed an early Christmas treat to everyone.

I strongly recommend it By Julie Crystal This is one of the best self-esteem books I've seen, all in one set.I cannot speak highly enough of this set of books.It is written in an easy to understand and relatively entertaining manner. There are plenty of practical exercises to help you apply the information that is given. You could spend a really long time and a lot of money with a therapist and never get to where this books will take you after several hours of reading it and doing exercises.I strongly recommend it.

This book package offers to its readers the perfect "recipe". It is a helpful, well written and well organized book package. The writing style is easy to read and understand.
