Given that experience he has developed, slowly and with considerable study, a brand of sales technique that starts with the education of the jobseeker, offering tips and guidance on how to obtain the job most desirable to the seeker. Practicing what he preaches he has become a coach for career seekers and has a successful following of happy recipients of his concepts. These are the concepts he shares in this brief but heady book.As he states before any of the information forthcoming begins, ‘This book will give you proven strategies to conduct an effective job interview, help you create a winning résumé employers will respond to, and help you communicate your unique value to key decision makers.’He further introduces his reason for placing this information before us by stating, ‘It is more difficult today than ever to find new job opportunities. The competition is fierce. For every new job posting, an employer receives hundreds of applications. If you are not adding value to an organization, your résumé will be relegated to the bottom of the pile. Furthermore, in this new technological era, most of the initial evaluation process is handled not by people, but Applicant Tracking Systems. These computerized tools search each résumé for keywords or references. Getting beyond these initial gatekeepers is an exercise in futility for those who are ill prepared. Douloumbakas This is an interesting book, mainly because the Author took a different approach than many of the other job hunting/career advancement books I've read over the years. The ideas probably aren't "Revolutionary" as he claims, but it does present a new and fresh perspective on what employers are likely to be looking for in job candidates. There isn't as much emphasis on social media as I'd hoped, but overall it was a good solid read packed with useful information.

How to Sell Yourself Effectively By Marta Cheng The Job You Always Wanted Today by Andre Marron has three main objectives: to provide its readers with proven strategies to conduct an effective job interview, to help its readers create a winning resume employers will respond to and to help readers communicate their unique value to key decision makers. The author, Andre Marron’s, tips can be used by professionals in a diverse range of fields from marketing to healtchare, from information technology to finance and from manufacturing to transportation, to name a few. The book is divided into four parts with the first part emphasizing how to increase one’s personal value, the second is how to communicate one’s business value effectively, the third covers the important elements of a resume and the fourth covers job interviews. There’s nothing high-brow about Marron’s prose. It’s straightforward without being imposing, conversational yet structured. With today’s job market being extremely volatile and competitive, job security has, unfortunately, become somewhat of a vague concept which is why no one – not even someone who believes themselves to be a seasoned lifer – can afford to sit on his or her laurels. Marron offers good advice for the taking. You’d be doing yourself a disservice not to take it.
