About the Author Sue Torres is an animal advocate, rescue volunteer and proud owner of a previously abused pit bull who was slated to be destroyed for being tense and fearful in the shelter environment. Inspired by their resilience, devotion and ability to forgive, she now devotes herself to restoring the image of these once-esteemed and cherished family pets. She works tirelessly to promote the adoption of pit bulls in our nation's shelters and change perceptions about this extremely misunderstood and unjustly maligned breed. Torres lives in Connecticut with her rescued pit bull, Mickey. She is also the author of "Loyalty Unleashed: Pit Bulls and the People Who Love Them" and has written articles for various websites to promote the adoption of pit bulls and other shelter pets. "Loyalty Unleashed II" is her second book.

By catadupa There is so much negativity and misperception about Pit Bulls out there, that a book such as this (and the first Loyalty Unleashed) is a wonderful antidote to all that is perceived bad about these truly wonderful dogs. Sue Torres has done a great job of compiling Pit Bull owners' stories that warm the heart. Briefly, to know one is to love one; I discovered that myself and this book reinforces the fact that if you have heard only negative things about Pit Bulls and are scared of them, then make a point of getting to know them - you will not only be pleasantly surprised, you will also find yourself picking up both these books again and again, as the stories in them will make you smile and confirm your change of heart.

This book is just a spectacular look at pit bulls, a beautiful breed which is wildly misunderstood. Sue Torres takes you into the psyche of these beautiful animals and what makes them so special, and such amazing pets. Loyalty Unleashed II made me laugh, made me cry, and made me love my pit bull just a little bit more. This is an ABSOLUTE must get for all animal lovers and pit bull owners!

I love the follow ups on the dogs from the first book and all the photos. This book really illustrates how wonderful these dogs are, and how wrong the public perception and media portrayals are. If you don't own a Pit Bull yet, you will definitely want to go rescue one after reading this book!
