However, this book is definitely proposing doing a LOT at what I would consider the last minute. All the suggestions on what to think of, what to take stock of are great, but I'm not personally a big fan of waiting until 12 days before Christmas to think about cookie making. But that is just me! Each day is dedicated to a different thing - and I wasn't really clear on when shopping for Christmas presents was supposed to happen but there was one night where they were all to be wrapped.Here is what I didn't like. The author refers to my kind at the beginning of the book - in her opinion women who plan and prepare far in advance are treating Christmas like a military operation and are doing themselves an injustice. The comment on "wallowing in Smugsville" kind of put me over the top.By all means, wait until 30 days before Christmas to jump in and prepare. Maybe that is more your style. But don't assume that means those of us who get started with at least some things far before that are smug and failing to soak up Christmas atmosphere. Sheesh! In my opinion, the level of special touches which the author describes so beautifully could not be achieved without a psychotic episode in the time she allots. At least not by me!In summary, love the vision - but I'll be taking weeks if not months to carefully plan for implementing them!
