Katti Lipp has organized a great guide to planning for a stress free holiday season. Of course one of the key factors in getting organized is- well, getting organized. This book gives some tips that might help you ACTUALLY do just that.I imagine there are a number of people that will frown at the idea of putting together and keeping a binder but look a t it this way: Remember last year when you told yourself you wanted to a) decorate a room the same way next year; or b) use that same recipe again? Remember how you told yourself, "Oh, I'll remember..." and now you can't remember? That's exactly the point. If you put in all in one spot and detail everything-- you don't have to remember.Lipp gives you steps to easily navigate your way through all the holiday activities (that you can modify)and guide you to getting it all done with less stress. This book is especially good for new families starting out and wanting to start new traditions; and for the people that just never seem to find sanity in organizing it all. To be honest, the past several years I’ve let Christmas be led by my mother and mother-in-law with our family get-togethers with them. We’ve started just a couple minimal traditions with our girls now 3 and 5. I just never felt capable of anything more. With Kathi’s help, I now feel like I can have a plan and a plan with a purpose. I can already avoid so much of the chaos and stress that overwhelms so many women but no longer leave it up to someone else to do for me.

After learning a bit about the history of jewellery we are introduced to different materials to use to make handmade jewellery such as metal, clay or wood. I especially liked the step by step instructions that give you a lot of details and I finally gained the confidence to make my own necklace. Now my sister wants one as well! I might consider reading more seriously the last chapter about creating your own jewellery store online.. Definitely recommend this book!

About the Author Ian Wardropper has been director of The Frick Collection since 2011. Previously, he was Iris and B. Gerald Cantor Chairman of the Department of European Sculpture and Decorative Arts at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Eloise W. Martin Curator and Department Head, European Decorative Arts and Sculpture and Ancient Art, at the Art Institute of Chicago. He has written numerous books and articles and co-organized more than twenty exhibitions in his specialties of European sculpture, earlier decorative arts, and twentieth-century design and decorative arts, among them Cast in Bronze: French Sculpture from Renaissance to Revolution (2009), and Art of the Royal Court: Treasures in Pietre Dure for the Palaces of Europe (2008). In 2012, he received the prestigious Chevalier de L’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from France.He has lectured widely and made a number of radio and TV appearances. Most recently, he gave a tour of the Frick to Mario Batali, for the chef’s series “The High Road”; appeared on Channel 13 to feature a sculpture by Jean-Antoine Houdon; and discussed the exhibition Vermeer, Rembrandt, and Hals at The Frick Collection on NY1.Julia Day is associate conservator at The Frick Collection. In 2011, she completed the treatment of Houdon's life-sized painted terracotta sculpture Diana the Huntress in preparation for its installation in the new Portico Gallery. In 2012, she presented her work on The Frick Collection at two symposia: the French Bronze Symposium in Paris, and the ICOM-CC Enamel Group meeting in Barcelona, where she spoke about her treatment of Limoges painted enamels and the renovation of the Enamel Room's historic display cases.

By Amanda I have several different factors in life that have created a medical list for me that is a mile long, including ADHD, PTSD, High Anxiety, major traumatic events that led to muscle and tissue damage and chronic pain and swelling, etc. I have found the best way to to help keep my pain managable (w/o medication which I do not take) and to help when my anxiety level is up is to color. I tried to find coloring books in the store but they were childish and even the "adult" coloring books were still kind of childish. I decided to look on Amazon and found these books. They are AWESOME!!! The details are incredible and when coloring them and choosing different colors and making it "come to life" so to speak will get you lost in yourself and your colors for hours!!!! I really can't say enough about the pictures they are just amazing!!!!! I can't wait to see if this artist is going to put any more adult coloring books on Amazon! I will definitely be looking/following this artist. Also I would like to see if there are any coloring books for children he has done? My girls love coloring and art as well and they love my coloring books so I would love to see what he could draw for children if he can draw with this kind of detail for adults. VERYYYYY satisified and impressed!!!!

I love pink and decorated at home and at work in pink however there was not that much pink in it or vibrancy consequently this book gave me no inspirational ideas and was a complete disappointment. It did arrive promptly and in perfect condition.

6 of 6 people found the following review helpful. The Barber Coin Collector Companion By The Creative Investor This is a long awaited title to "The Official Red Book" series. When Dave Bowers published "A guide Book of Double Eagle Gold Coins" in 2004, "A Guide Book of Barber Silver Coins" was planed to be the eight book in the series. Eleven years in the making, it is now 20th in the series. Probably the reason it took so long is finding the wonderful large date and mintmark color pictures of each coin in the Barber dime, quarter, and half dollar series. The best part of the book. Many Barbers coins are dark brown or stained - ugly coins. Dave strongly recommends picking coins that are brilliant with rich luster or have light iridescent toning. The pictures in this book will encourage you to do that.It was fascinating to learn the number of Barber coins that are believed to have survived today. For example, 19.6 million 1899 Barber Dimes were struck and 100,000 to 125,000 are believed to have survived; although, the vast majority are in About Good to Good condition. Where are these coins? Dave Bowers, an well respected and important coin dealer, gives encouragement to collectors on a budget looking for something worthwhile to collect. While a date and mint mark set in Mint State 64 would amount to a $96,000 investment, a collector on a budget could put together the same 74 coin set in good condition for about $1,800 or $5,600 in Fine condition.Careful reading of this book will reveal little titbits. For example, the 1907-O Barber Quarter is the poorest struck coin in the quarter series with "mumps" (distortions on neck and jaw), scars, and other problems. A companion book to the Barber Dimes series is Jeff Ambio's "Collecting & Investing Strategies for Barber Dimes" which focuses on the Mint State grades.A word of caution. Amazon tends to ship this heavy paperback book in a padded envelope without any bubble wrapping to protect it. My first copy arrived damaged which I returned without an issue and the second copy was acceptable. I would not recommend ordering this book by itself but with another book or two so that you get the books in a box.

By Passionate Hobbyist This book is very well-designed! I appreciate the font choices and the full color printing is gorgeous! It makes sense to combine the three into a single book because the history for each runs on parallel tracks and all three series run from 1892 to 1915/16, have consistent designs and in terms of collecting, the advice for one series typically carries to the other two.This is one of my favorite books in the Whitman series because it's colorful and places the coins in a broader context. As Kenneth Bressett wrote in the foreward, "It was only after 1893 that collectors became interested in the mintmarks found on these and United States coins." Isn't it wild to think of a time when collectors were indifferent to Mint marks? Wouldn't it be fun to be a collector back then?This book does a great job of taking the reader back in time, while providing useful market insights for today's collector.

The Forward by Kenneth Bressett was moving. The Introduction by Q. David Bowers was touching. The Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 are wonderful history and solid, tangible evidence of the history of the Barber Silver Coins. This is a masterpiece and I love reading it. Kenneth Bressett and Q. David Bowers are the foremost authority in Numismatics. I am blessed to read their book during our living lifetimes! Great Book!
